Fifteen minutes later, DosSantos sent out another email apologizing for sending the email to all council members, indicating that it wasn’t supposed to be sent to white members of the council.
People are expressing outrage that the mayor of Boston, Michelle Wu, excluded white officials from her Christmas party. The event evoked memories of segregation, as only “electeds of color” were invited.
People only discovered this party was even happening, because one of Wu’s officials sent it to everyone. The office then had to explain to its white council members that they were being excluded, simply because of the color of their skin.
The city excused itself by saying “everyone of the Boston City Council” was invited to “multiple types of events” for the season. But that hasn’t washed away accusations of racism against the mayor.
Wu has been criticized previously over comments she’s made. White restaurant owners have sued the mayor, claiming she was targeting them with fees because of their skin color. Wu’s discriminatory ideology might have also come to light when she said she is “used to dealing with problems that are expensive, disruptive, and white.”

While this might shock many readers, it should come as no surprise to those living in a progressive part of the country. Far-left Democrats have frequently been criticized for policies and comments that single out white people. Progressive business owners have, in the past, charged white customers more.
This appears to be part of the progressive left’s core values, that white Americans are “oppressors” who benefit from the country’s “systemic racism.” The only solution, in their minds, seems to come in the form of more discrimination, but against white people.
