WHO Warns of Monkeypox Outbreak and Pandemic Likelihood

The World Health Organization (WHO) is a renowned organization. Nearly every corner of the globe has seen or heard from them throughout the years, and their advice, research, and education are second to none. They know what is going on within the world, usually aren’t led astray by American politics, and they largely avoid the ‘wokeism’ the left tries to inject everywhere.

While cautioning people to be careful, they don’t expect this outbreak outside of Africa to turn into a new pandemic. However, they are cautioning against assumptions at this point, as they are currently unsure about being able to transmit the virus unless you are showing symptoms. Currently, there have been approximately 300 reported cases, mostly in Europe. At this point, it is being assessed as a “potential public health emergency of international concern” or PHEIC, which will help increase their funding accessibility to research it.

This classification was also given to COVID-19 and Ebola when they started spreading. Without this change, the research given to any of these diseases would be minimal at best. This research has shown that the symptoms of flu-like symptoms and pus-filled skin lesions have been staying consistent. Remaining mild for those infected, it is most often spread via close contact. This close contact is happening during the duration of the rash emerging and the scabs falling off; it’s also considered the infectious period.

Rosamund Lewis is a technical lead for monkeypox from the WHO Health Emergencies Program. When asked about this growing into a global pandemic said “We don’t know but we don’t think so. At the moment, we are not concerned of a global pandemic… We really don’t actually yet know whether there’s an asymptomatic transmission of monkeypox – the indications in the past have been that this is not a major feature – but this remains to be determined.”

What is important to understand is how common the disease is. Unlike the mass hysteria, the mainstream media is trying to push, it is an endemic (a normal disease for a certain part of the globe) in Central and West African countries. It’s also not usually linked to travel. It’s been around for a good bit, and the vaccine they are announcing for those close to the infected is not something randomly drummed up on short notice.

So, in essence, it’s the exact opposite of what COVID first was. They aren’t rushing to pull a Dr. Fauci and claim they know everything, or that they have the perfect solution to prevent getting it. It’s not something that wasn’t previously well known. Then again, the disease has been well known enough to be used in a few mediocre sci-fi movies in the last couple of decades. Panicking over a bad movie disease and rushing to vaccinate everyone when the transmission rates are so low would be criminal.

When the news first hit about the disease it looked like the WHO and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) were about to team up and try and force another global lockdown. Countries that had never even heard of the disease would suddenly have been thrust back into seclusion for something they have little to no information on. It could have been COVID all over again. Thankfully, this time the previously done science was looked at, accounted for, and understood that this is something we can easily defeat with simple proper protocols. Find out you have somehow contracted it, stay isolated. If you don’t, wash your hands and be safe.
