Trump to Georgia: Decide Whether You Want a “Socialist Country or a Free Country”

At his first rally since the November election, President Trump appeared in Valdosta, Georgia on Saturday night to stump for Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, the two Republican senators whose victories next month are crucial if the GOP wants to retain control of the Senate. Though politically-confused lawyers like Lin Wood have been encouraging Georgia voters to sit out the runoffs out of loyalty to Trump, the president himself was crystal clear about what he wanted his supporters to do in January.

“Very simply, you will decide whether your children will grow up in a socialist country or free country. Socialism is just the beginning for these people. They want to go into a communistic form of government,” the president said.

Trump told voters that the runoff races weren’t just about keeping the Senate but also about keeping the “two most extreme, far-left, liberal candidates in history” out of the government – referring to the pair of Democratic challengers, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff

“You must go vote, vote early. They cheated, they rigged our presidential election, but we will still win it. They’re going to try and rig this election too,” Trump warned. “Your governor could stop it very easily, if he knew what the hell he was doing.”

Trump assured the crowd that this wasn’t about holding onto power at all costs; it was about defending the integrity of our elections.

“If I lost, I’d be a very gracious loser,” he said. “If I lost, I’d go to Florida…but you can’t ever accept what they steal and rig and rob. You can’t accept it.”

The president took direct aims at calls to boycott the election, saying that it would only deliver Democrats the total victory they need to transform the nation.

“The answer to the Democrat voter fraud is not to stay at home – that’s what Pelosi and Schumer want you to do. If you want revenge on the Democrats for their efforts to steal the Presidential election, where we are fighting hard, you have to show up and vote in RECORD numbers!” he said.

The idea of punishing Georgia, somehow, by sitting out this election is one of the more foolish ideas we’ve ever heard. How would such a tantrum possibly solve anything? We can only hope that very few voters in Georgia are seriously considering such a possibility, because the fate of our nation for the next two years rests on these races. If Democrats get full control of both the White House and Congress, we are in serious trouble.
