For the third time this year, President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. Already having been recognized for his role in brokering peace between Israel and her Muslim neighbors in the Middle East, Trump was nominated this week by a collection of Australian law professors who are taken with his doctrine against forever wars in that part of the world.

In an interview with Sky News, law professor David Flint said that despite what Trump’s critics say about the 45th president, one cannot deny that he has driven American foreign policy in an entirely new direction.

“The Trump Doctrine is something extraordinary, as so many things that Donald Trump does. He is guided by two things, which seem to be absent from so many politicians. He has firstly common sense and he is only guided by a national interest, and therefore, in our circumstances, an interest in the Western alliance,” Flint said. “What he has done with the Trump Doctrine is that he has decided that he would no longer have America involved in endless wars, wars which achieve nothing, but the killing of thousands of young Americans and enormous debts imposed on America.”

Flint told the outlet that it was remarkable to see what Trump has accomplished in the Middle East, having just brokered a new peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

“What Trump did was he went ahead and negotiated against all advice, but he did it with common sense,” Flint said. “He negotiated directly with the Arab states concerned and Israel and brought them together and these states are lining up. He’s also been the first American president to work out how to make America energy independent of the Middle East. He is really producing peace in the world in a way which none of his predecessors did. He fully deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.”

Yeah, but…but…he’s Trump!

And that is, of course, the only reason the Nobel Committee needs to wipe this possibility completely off the table and for Trump’s critics to claim that this is some sort of international kiss-up on the part of these Australian professors (who have, as far as we can see, absolutely nothing to gain from nominating the U.S. president for this honor). Why, this is the guy who pulled America out of the Paris Climate Agreement! He tore up the Iran nuclear deal! He…he…he’s a monster!!

But when you look at the facts – and just the facts – it becomes quickly clear that if Trump were to win the Nobel Peace Prize next year, he would instantly become one of the institution’s most deserving recipients.
