The 2020 presidential election was a hard-fought race. President Trump campaigned extensively for re-election, as did the allies backing his candidacy; moreover, tens of thousands of Trump supporters attended the rallies of the 45th president and multiple millions more voted for him.

Days after November 3, the media declared Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election. This resulted in a series of grand promises from Trump’s attorneys to prove that systemic election fraud and rigging in swing states led to Biden’s win. However, these grand promises were never followed through on.

This past Wednesday, a series of Trump loyalists mobbed the U.S. Capitol. This stunt resulted in multiple deaths, arrests, destruction, and ongoing work to find more responsible parties.

Less than 48 hours after the onslaught upon Capitol Hill, President Trump officially and formally conceded the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, according to Breitbart News.

A Closer Look at Trump’s Concession to Biden

After the incident on Capitol Hill, the president sent out a Wednesday video where he urged his supporters to go home, yet spoke about the election being stolen.

This video prompted multiple social media sites to shut down the president; Twitter banned Trump for 12 hours, with the clock beginning as soon as he deleted tweets which the platform declared as violations of terms and services.

Instagram, Snapchat, Shopify, and Facebook furthermore banned the president from using their services for indefinite time periods. However, following the 12-hour ban’s expiration on Trump’s Twitter account, he posted a new video.

The latest message from the 45th president condemns the attacks on the U.S. Capitol, vowing that the perpetrators will face accountability. Furthermore comes Trump’s notice that a “smooth transition of power” will be handed to Joe Biden and that a “new administration” is to be sworn in on January 20.

Reactions to Trump’s Concession

Folks on the left and others who despise Trump are all-too-thrilled to see him concede the presidential race to Biden. Supporters and fans of Trump, however, are not so happy.
