Former President Donald Trump has had no shortage of criticism for Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing his hush-money trial in New York.
However, this week saw the former president accuse Merchan of striking at his family by refusing to let him attend his son's graduation on May 17.

Trump: "This whole event is unfair"
According to Breitbart, Trump leveled that allegation earlier this week in a post put up on his social media network Truth Social.
Trump began by asking if someone would "explain for me, to my wonderful son, Barron, who is a GREAT Student at a fantastic School, that his Dad will likely not be allowed to attend his Graduation Ceremony."
The former president declared that his son's graduation is "something that we have been talking about for years" but complained that "a seriously conflicted and corrupt New York state judge" is keeping him away.
"This Fake Case is solely meant to attack Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, ME, who is seriously leading him in the Polls, for purposes of Election Interference," Trump continued.
"The Judge, Juan Merchan, is preventing me from proudly attending my son’s Graduation. Seems very unfair, doesn’t it? But this whole event is unfair," the Republican presidential hopeful complained.
Judge has yet to rule on request for day off
Trump concluded by alleging that his "many fake cases" have been orchestrated by the White House "in order to help the worst president in history."
The Associated Press reported that Trump voiced similar thoughts when speaking with reporters while leaving court on Monday, saying, "It looks like the judge will not let me go to the graduation of my son."
However, the news service pointed out that Merchan has yet to rule on motion from Trump's lawyers asking that proceedings be adjourned on May 17.
"It really depends on how we're doing on time and where we are in the trial," Merchan was quoted as saying of the request.

This is hardly the first time Trump has gone after Merchan, as his attorneys filed a motion earlier this year seeking to have the judge recuse himself.
At issue is the fact that Merchan's daughter is chief operating officer and president of Authentic Campaigns, a Democrat-aligned political consulting firm.
Its clients have included President Joe Biden, Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff. The New York Post reported that the company used Trump's trial in a fundraising campaign on Schiff's behalf.
