Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, called for President Joe Biden’s impeachment Monday, claiming that the United States now requires “a regime change.” This was in response to Biden’s call for regime change in Russia following Vladimir Putin’s incursion into Ukraine.
“The most crucial regime change now is the one in the United States,” Greene wrote on Twitter.
“Impeach Biden,” she said in a follow-up tweet.

During a speech in Warsaw on Saturday, following talks with Ukrainian refugees fleeing their war-ravaged nation, the 79-year-old career politician sparked a firestorm when he declared that “the president of Russia can’t stay in power.”
“For God’s sake, this man cannot stay in power,” Biden said.
The latest gaffe made by the Democrat was seen by many as an aggressive call for the assassination of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the United States’ commitment to more dangerous nation-building.
The president of the United States calling for regime change in a nuclear country might lead to World War III. This is not something anyone would want to happen.
According to The Washington Post, the inflammatory and ad-libbed statement was quickly reversed by the White House.
“The president’s message was that Putin can’t be permitted to dominate his neighbors or the region,” a spokesman said. “He was not implying that Russia needs a regime change.”
Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who was on a visit to Jerusalem on Sunday, sought to douse the flames Biden had lit by declaring that the United States does not seek “regime change” in Russia or anywhere else.

He stated that the decision whether or not to oust Putin (or not) rests with the Russian people, and not foreign interventionists.
“You know, and we’ve said it many times before, we don’t have any plans for regime change in Russia or anywhere else,” Blinken added.
“It’s ultimately up to the people of the nation in question. Which in this case are the Russians,” he said.
