For five straight years, the mainstream media has gone out of its way to find any and every way to deem President Donald Trump a racist based on spurious claims, an ever-expanding definition of the word “racism,” and outright fake news. It is no surprise, therefore, that the president and his supporters don’t exactly jump out of their seats every time someone on the left accuses them of being racist. When you live by a code under which literally everything other than espousing the sayings of Mao can be interpreted as racism, your accusations lose a lot of their power.

When it comes to people on the left, however, you can believe that if THEY are accused of racism (or any other kind of -ism), there must be a reason for it. Granted, sometimes that reason is just that the woke mob demands a little more blood to sate their everlasting thirst, but often the claims are a little more substantial than that. Especially when the same accusations keep getting lobbed at the same people.
The same two people, to be specific: Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar. The first two Muslim women to ever be elected to the House of Representatives, the pair have – again and again – stepped into the murky waters of antisemitism since joining Congress. It happened again this weekend when Tlaib, who is Palestinian, responded to Joe Biden’s selection of Antony Blinken as his Secretary of State. After Faiz Shakir, Bernie Sanders’ former campaign manager, said that Blinken was a “solid choice,” Tlaib weighed in with a really weird take.
“So long as he doesn’t suppress my First Amendment right to speak out against [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s racist and inhumane policies,” she tweeted. “The Palestinian people deserve equality and justice.”
First of all, how in the world would Biden’s Secretary of State have the power to suppress Rashida Tlaib’s freedom of speech? Second: Biden picks a Jewish man for his cabinet, and this is what you go to first?
“Biden names a Jew to his cabinet. What’s Rashida’s response?! ‘Welp, as long as that Judische pick doesn’t stop me from focusing my hatred on one country, Israel, then he’s a good Jew!’ It’s not your 1A right you’re trying to protect but your vile Jew-hatred! That’s ALL yours!” said Dov Hikind of Americans Against Antisemitism.
The Republican Jewish Coalition encouraged Tlaib to be more open about her biases: “You can just say you’re worried because he’s Jewish…”
Tlaib appeared to “clarify” the next day by invoking the Trump administration’s opposition to organized boycotts against Israel.
“Sec. Pompeo has moved to suppress BDS [Boycott, Divest, and Sanction], a peaceful protest movement protected by the 1st Amendment,” she tweeted. “I hope that Mr. Blinken and President-Elect Biden’s Administration will change course from Trump’s State Department & not target or suppress support of Palestinian human rights.”

This clarification would only get her off the antisemitic hook, however, if the BDS movement itself were not blatantly antisemitic.
We’re sure, though, that Tlaib has little to worry about; Biden will undoubtedly be every bit the enemy to Netanyahu’s Israel as his old boss was. The days of appeasing America’s enemies and alienating her allies are back, baby! The Tlaibs and Omars of the world should rejoice.
