Constitutional experts believe the FBI may have violated the First Amendment of the American Constitution by forcing Twitter to undermine free speech.

Now, legal experts are indicating that the FBI should be prosecuted for taking sides in political matters by suppressing the free speech of Americans.

Twitter Files Badly Exposed the FBI

BREAKING: Viagra Obsolete: New Invention Cheaper, Safer, Faster

Last week, journalist Matt Taibbi released Twitter Files, given to him by Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk.

The Files revealed that Twitter’s former head of Safety, Yoel Roth, met with the officials of the DHS, FBI, and Director of National Intelligence to discuss the suppression of so-called misinformation before the 2020 presidential elections.

Taibbi posted screenshots of the internal communication of Twitter, according to which the law enforcement agency forced Twitter to take action against two tweets about voter fraud.

After the FBI’s request, Twitter put a label below one of the tweets, asking people to learn how safe and secure voting is in America.

The newly released screenshots also revealed that Twitter’s current policy director, Nick Pickles, discussed with his employee how Twitter curbs misinformation in collaboration with the FBI and DHS.

Furthermore, Twitter’s former deputy general counsel, Jim Baker, started his job on Twitter after serving in a controversial position in the FBI.

During his job at the FBI, Baker promoted a Trump-Russia collusion narrative, which brought him into the good books of the liberal stakeholders of Twitter, which eventually earned him a job on the social media platform.

Elon Musk fired Baker earlier this month for his alleged involvement in the suppression of free speech. Baker’s actions hampered public debate on various issues.

White House Officials Ate Their Own Words About Free Speech Suppression

Despite all the concerns about the FBI’s controversial role in suppressing free speech, the White House claimed it did not pressure Twitter to censor any information.

According to the White House, no official of the Biden administration was in contact with Baker before Twitter fired him.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre asserted that private companies are free to make their hiring and firing decisions; so the government was not involved in manipulating the social media giant.

Similarly, John Kirby, the Strategic Communications Director of the National Security Council, claimed that private social media companies are not being dictated to manage their content.

These remarks of the high-profile officials of the Biden administration contradict the statement of former White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

Last year, Psaki claimed the White House remains in touch with social media companies to combat COVID-related disinformation.

Now, legal experts want lawmakers to hold the FBI accountable.

Hans Von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation, noted the federal government is also restricted under the First Amendment, which prohibits them not to suppress free speech.

Likewise, constitutional expert Ilya Shapiro suggested that Twitter Files depict the severity of the government’s involvement in suppressing free speech on social media.
