Penn State Backs Down After Assuring Conservatives Their Voice Will Be Heard

Last month, Pennsylvania State University’s liberal arts department sent out a message aimed at many different minority groups on campus, including conservative students who, of course, are far outnumbered by their peers when it comes to political alignment. The tweet, which was wholesome and (should have been) uncontroversial, was immediately met with intense backlash of course. Leftist students were disgusted to see the university promise conservatives that their voices would be heard and welcomed on campus, and they succeeded in getting the department to delete the statement.

Here’s what Penn State originally wrote:

Dear students, each of you belongs here.

Dear Black students, your lives matter.

Dear Muslim and Jewish students, your beliefs are valued here.

Dear conservative students, your viewpoints are important.

Dear Latinx students, you will not find walls here.

Dear female students, you are respected.

Dear LGBTQ+ students, you are supported here.

Dear international students, you are welcome here.

Dear ALL students, we are here to support and learn from one another.

Welp, sound the alarm, because conservative speech is hate speech and hate speech is violence.

“Conservatives in the United States do not live in a system that was built from the blood and trauma of their ancestors — a system that continues to put down people who look like [their ancestors] every day,” one student told the student newspaper. “Black, Latinx, LGBTQ+, Muslim and Jewish individuals have to deal with [an environment] where a student can scream the N-word at protestors and draw a swastika for a ‘cute’ sorority squat picture and there are no consequences.”

“Penn State really addressed conservative students views being important while attempting to say ‘black lives matter’ i’m confused,” tweeted another moron.

“Penn state: conservative lives matter. Us: uh no,” wrote another mental giant.

After the tweet was deleted, Penn State Director of Strategic Communications William Hessert Jr. explained to Campus Reform that while the message was meant “to express the inclusive, democratic and participatory values of the liberal arts,” the “message was not being received well and it is important for us that our messages be received as intended.”

Oh, it was received exactly as intended, Mr. Hessert. The problem isn’t the message, the problem is that your school is being taken over by left-wing fascists who literally do not believe in free speech. And by surrendering to this mob, you are responsible for giving them the power that they so desperately crave.

Ya might want to stop doing that…
