Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered his military to put Russian nuclear forces on high alert, initiating the crisis with the potential to push the world to the brink of nuclear war.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy suggested the “unstable” Putin is cornered in the war; therefore, he brought the nuclear option into the equation.

While speaking to “Sunday Morning Futures,” Rep. Kevin McCarthy asserted there are primarily two reasons why Russia is threatening the world with nuclear war right now.
First, the Russian president perceives he is being cornered in a war; so he needs to have the upper hand during peace talks to negotiate his way out of the war. Secondly, McCarthy continued, Putin is “unstable,” so he wants the world to be in chaos.
Likewise, the GOP congressman asserted no country should stand with the Russian president in the prevailing crisis, adding every nation must consider the severity of orders that Putin made.

He was referring to Putin’s decision to order his nuclear forces to be on high alert as the Russian invasion of Ukraine enters a critical stage.
Former DIA intelligence official Rebekah Koffler also raised alarm bells regarding Putin’s ambitions of going nuclear.
She asserted Putin wants to topple Ukraine’s government as soon as possible, for which he issued strategies like threatening the world with nuclear bombs.
Speaking to his top advisors on Sunday, Putin indicated NATO powers made “aggressive statements,” claiming the western world is imposing draconian sanctions against Russia.
Last week, the Russian president already warned any country interfering within Russia’s internal affairs would be served with the likes of punishments not be found in history.
Time for Biden to learn from the Ukraine crisis
While criticizing the Biden administration’s policy regarding the geopolitical crisis, McCarthy noted the US should have helped Ukraine earlier with weapons.
The House Republican claimed he told Biden in advance Putin has a habit of living with sanctions, so he will easily go around with them. However, the only way the Russian president can feel scared is through US deterrence, McCarthy added.
Likewise, the congressman slammed Biden for leaving a hefty amount of military equipment in Afghanistan, continuing that had gadgets been delivered to Ukraine, the Russian invasion would have never happened in the first place.
Furthermore, he endorsed Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s approach of not evacuating the country at the request of America, saying this blunder of Biden would have collapsed the whole Ukraine by now.
If President Zelenskyy would have taken President Biden's advice and fled the country, Ukraine may have already collapsed.

When the Biden administration offered Ukraine’s president help to flee the country, he denied the offer immediately, saying he needed ammunition and not the ride.
Thus, McCarthy concluded Biden should learn these lessons for Taiwan so he does not repeat the same mistakes in yet another geopolitical conflict, which seems imminent now.
