Some critics declared earlier this year that Vice President Kamala Harris should have picked Pennsylvania Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro as her running mate rather than Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
However, a recent interview suggests that replacing Walz with Shaprio might not have been an improvement, as the latter recently failed to distinguish Harris from President Joe Biden.

Governor deflects from questions by talking about Trump
The Democratic governor's remarks came this past weekend during an interview with Kristen Welker, host of NBC's "Meet the Press."
At one point in their exchange, Welker asked Shapiro whether Harris has "done enough to distance herself from President Biden."
Shapiro responded by claiming that former President Donald Trump will "raise costs for middle-class families" as well as "throw a grenade in everything and create more chaos."
Welker responded by pointing to polling data which shows "that more Americans feel as though President Biden’s policies have hurt them rather than helped them."
"So, can you name one key policy difference between Vice President Harris and President Biden? How would her administration look different?" she asked.
Shapiro refuses to name policy difference between Harris and Biden
Shaprio attempted to deflect by claiming that Harris "will cut taxes for small businesses" and "focus on child care ed extension."

Yet Welker pressed on, saying, "Those aren’t necessarily differences, though. They're an expansion or a tweak to some extent to what’s been done. Can you name one policy difference?"
Shapiro again refused to answer, saying, "Listen, again, the contrast I am focused on, Kristen is between her and Donald Trump, and on that, I think it is clearly different."
Harris can't say what Biden administration should have done differently
The Pennsylvania governor's comments echoed a similar stance which Harris herself took several weeks ago when asked to differentiate herself from the current president.

Fox News noted how during an appearance on ABC's "The View," the vice president could not point to anything she thought the Biden administration should have done differently.
That answer didn't sit well with CNN host Kasie Hunt, who stated, "I was a little bit surprised that she didn't have a better answer to that question."
