Former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry believes his party has a “truth” problem.
And according to Kerry, the only way of fixing it is radically changing the U.S. Constitution.
Here’s what unfolded.
During a discussion with the World Economic Forum on Green Energy last week, Kerry was asked what could be done to fight online “disinformation.”

Kerry’s answer was shocking as he claimed the First Amendment was in the way of Democrats’ desire to fight so-called online disinformation.
“You know there’s a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities in order to guarantee that you’re going to have some accountability on facts, etc.,” he said.
“But look, if people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda, and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence.”
“So what we need is to win the ground, win the right to govern, by hopefully winning enough votes that you’re free to be able to implement change,” he added.
He said that the problem was unique to democracies because there was an “absence of a sort of truth arbiter, and there’s no one who defines what facts really are.”
Kerry also added, “If we could strip away some of the fearmongering that’s taking place and get down to the realities of what’s here for people, this is the biggest economic opportunity.”

Is Kerry implying that non-Democratic societies — like North Korea or China for example — have more of a “truth” barometer?
Or is he saying that free speech gets in the way of his party’s agenda?
You be the judge.
Kerry spent the rest of the time on the panel the importance of electing the right people in November who will properly tackle the climate crisis.
“I think democracies are very challenged right now and have not proven they can move fast enough of big enough to deal with the challenges they are facing, and to me, that is part of what this election is all about. Will we break the fever in the United States?”
Kerry previously served as the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate under the Biden administration. He stepped down from his position earlier this year.
But back to the notion of information coming from a singular source seems to be a lightning rod for Democrats.
Just over the weekend, Hillary Clinton say down for an interview with PBS’ ‘Firing Line’ host Margaret Hoover where she complained that the mainstream media does not have a “consistent narrative about the danger that Trump poses.”
“There will be concerted efforts to distort and pervert Kamala Harris, who she is, what she stands for, what she’s done,” Clinton said. “I mean, look, I mean, the crazy story about me running a child trafficking operation out of a basement of a pizzeria.”
