Kevin McCarthy (R-Ca.) is throwing Hunter Biden's sweetheart plea deal back at him, saying it will not stop and even will "enhance" the GOP's probe of his business dealings.
The Department of Justice is ending its five-year investigation of Hunter Biden without bringing charges for money laundering or unregistered foreign lobbying, despite reams of evidence that the Bidens peddled influence in China and Ukraine.

For Joe Biden, the victory is twofold: not only will his son not spend time in jail, but Democrats now have a talking point to argue that the controversy has been settled as Biden ramps up his re-election campaign.
Hunter not off the hook?
Democrats will surely paint continued inquiry as desperate and partisan, but Republicans aren't letting the Department of Justice have the last word.
Despite Hunter receiving a "slap on the wrist," top Republican investigator James Comer says Republicans “will not rest until the full extent of President Biden’s involvement in the family’s schemes are revealed."
The House Republicans' investigation has uncovered millions in money transfers that flowed through a complicated network of shell companies, raising suspicions of money laundering.
McCarthy said the DOJ has no more excuses to stonewall the Republicans' investigation now that the feds are done with their probe.
"Now, this does nothing to our investigation, and it actually should enhance our investigation because the DOJ should not be able to withhold any information now, saying that there’s a pending investigation," he said.
What's next?
The DOJ has said the probe is "ongoing" despite the plea agreement. McCarthy speculated that the statement is a diversionary tactic to continue protecting Hunter from scrutiny.
"How can Hunter Biden plead guilty, no jail time, and the DOJ say there's still an investigation trying to withhold information to the House?" McCarthy asked. "That's unacceptable and will not stand.”
The "sweetheart deal" has led to a public outcry, with many saying it exemplifies a two-tiered justice system.

McCarthy noted the striking contrast between the lenience shown toward Hunter Biden and the Justice Department's aggressive pursuit of Donald Trump, who happens to be the leading challenger to Hunter's dad in the upcoming presidential election.
"My first reaction is it continues to show the two-tiered system in America," McCarthy said. "If you are the President’s leading political opponent, the DOJ tries to literally put you in jail and give you prison time. If you are the president’s son, you get a sweetheart deal."
