In a tweet on Monday, Hillary Clinton accused President Donald Trump of putting America in danger with his refusal to concede that he lost the election to Joe Biden.
“What we’re seeing right now is a president with nothing left to lose and only one goal—to distract people from the fact that he lost,” she wrote. “He doesn’t care that the costs are America’s health, security, and our very democracy.

But while Clinton may sound indistinguishable from every other Democrat telling us all about the incalculable damage Trump is doing by exercising his legal right to challenge the election, she comes from a place that makes her quite difficult to take seriously. This is the woman, after all, who spent a solid two years (at least) after the 2016 election blaming everyone and anything on earth for her loss to Trump.
Or, as one Twitter user put it: “He’s just following your example.”
She’s also a hypocrite. Only a few months ago, in an interview with Showtime’s “The Circus,” Clinton said that Biden should hold the line on Election Day, even if the vote is trending inexorably in the wrong direction.
“Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances, because I think this is going to drag out, and eventually I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch, and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is,” Clinton said at the time.
Gee, it sounds like Trump is simply taking Clinton’s advice!
Then there’s this CBS News interview from September 2019. Asked if she was bothered by the “Lock Her Up” chants that were still commonplace at Trump rallies, Clinton reiterated her unfounded belief that Trump won the election through nefarious means.
“No, it doesn’t kill me because he knows he’s an illegitimate president,” she said. “I believe he understands that the many varying tactics they used, from voter suppression and voter purging to hacking to the false stories — he knows that — there were just a bunch of different reasons why the election turned out like it did.”
Hillary went on to describe her 2016 loss as “applying for a job and getting 66 million letters of recommendation and losing to a corrupt human tornado. And so I know that he knows that this wasn’t on the level. I don’t know that we’ll ever know what happened.”

Was Hillary just trying to distract from the fact that she lost? Was she doing damage to America’s health, security, and democracy when she deemed the sitting president “illegitimate”?
Or is this just another in a long line of actions that are “wrong” when Republicans do them and “fine” when Democrats do them?
