The Gold Star father who was charged for heckling Joe Biden during his State of the Union, Steve Nikoui, is free to go.
Nikoui's son, Marine Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui, was one of the 13 U.S. troops killed in a terror bombing during the chaotic scramble to evacuate Afghanistan in August 2021.

The heartbroken dad was arrested for interrupting Biden's speech with shouts of "Abbey gate!" referring to the site of the bombing at Kabul's airport.
The optics of the arrest were widely criticized, with many calling it an act of overreach.
Gold Star dad freed
The Democratic attorney general of Washington D.C., Brian Schwalb, dismissed charges Tuesday under pressure from Republican Darrell Issa (Ca.), who criticized the punishment as "disproportionate."
Nikoui told the Daily Mail that he was frustrated by Biden's failure to acknowledge his loss after the president briefly named Laken Riley, the young nursing student from Georgia who was murdered by an illegal immigrant.
"I've waited three years, I paid $3,000...and I've traveled 3,000 miles just to finally hear my son's name in the State of the Union," Nikoui said.
"We've all spent thousands of dollars, that trip to the State of the Union - what a kick in my a**," he added.
Three years on. no accountability in sight
The deadly evacuation from Afghanistan remains one of the most scrutinized events of Biden's presidency - which has since seen the outbreak of two major wars in Europe and the Middle East.
There has been little accountability to speak of for the 13 Gold Star families, who have criticized Biden's chilly response to their loss and ongoing secrecy surrounding the Abbey Gate attack.

Questions remain about the events that led to the bombing and whether it could have been prevented with better leadership. At the time, Biden hailed the withdrawal as an "extraordinary success" and his administration has continued to blame President Trump for the chaos that occurred.
Congress held another oversight hearing on the bungled withdrawal this week, where top generals like General Milley testified with Gold Star parents in attendance, including Nikoui and others.
Also present was Marine Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews, who lost two limbs in the Kabul bombing.
Vargas-Andrews has said he had the bomber in his sights but was told not to shoot.
