As more Americans receive their immunizations against COVID-19, conversations about vaccine passports continue to arise.
The idea of having Americans carry around their vaccination status or recent negative COVID-19 test in a digital passport is already being implemented in certain parts of the world and even the nation; this comes in spite of coronavirus having an over 98% rate of recovery.

Democrat states like New York have already taken the plunge and fully embraced vaccine passports. Hawaii, another state run by a Democrat, is also strongly considering the launch of a vaccine passport program.
However, red states are taking a wholly different approach and attitude. On Friday, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order that completely bans the use of vaccine passports statewide.
The Executive Order Banning Vaccine Passports
Towards the end of last month, Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis vowed to ban vaccine passports in the Sunshine State. Not only did DeSantis commit to banning these passports, but he also informed that the Florida state legislature will be urged to take action as well.
Today I issued an executive order prohibiting the use of so-called COVID-19 vaccine passports. The Legislature is working on making permanent these protections for Floridians and I look forward to signing them into law soon. Read my EO here – https://t.co/6QwLsLWEWm

On Friday, the conservative governor kept his word. DeSantis signed an executive order that fully prohibits vaccine passports in Florida. Furthermore, DeSantis also announced that the Florida state legislature is working on making this executive order a permanent law in the Sunshine State.
Thus far, the Florida governor is the first in the nation to ban vaccine passports. Other GOP governors, such as the ones in Nebraska and South Dakota, have spoken out against the dangers of these passports; however, they have yet to issue executive orders against them as DeSantis did yesterday.
Applause from Conservatives
Conservative Americans and others on the right lauded DeSantis’ executive order prohibiting vaccine passports. Conservatives noted the extent to which these passports can enable abuse, intrude on individuals’ privacy, and grant unfettered power to the government.
A "Vaccine Passport" is another way for the state to say they can make medical decisions for you and tell you where you can go and why. This tyranny will only end when people say Enough! As individuals we have self ownership and must fight to maintain it.

The issue of vaccine passports is yet another that divides the left and the right. Leftists see no issues with these passports; they have not acknowledged the plethora of ways that such tools are ripe for abuse, control, and a social credit system controlled by government.

Conservatives, on the other hand, remain committed to the fight for freedom and individual liberties.
