In an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity on Monday, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said that only President Donald Trump stands between the law-abiding public and the rage mob that has been burning down neighborhoods, looting stores, and destroying America’s most treasured monuments over the last month.

Meadows, the former congressman from North Carolina, said that those same criminal entities are looking to defund and abolish the police – something that would never happen under Trump’s leadership.

“He’s the only thing that stands between the mob and the American people,” Meadows said. “First, it’s the statues. Then it’s the businesses. Then it’s their homes.”

Meadows said that Trump is keenly aware of how important law enforcement is to keeping civility in this country and pushing back on the chaos that Democrats appear to crave.

“Sadly, we have had a loss of life — and yet this president is willing, and not only willing but has already put forth, federal resources to make sure that we can restore law and order. He did that about ten days ago; not only in D.C. but across the nation,” Meadows noted. “This president was willing and did indeed provide federal resources in Minneapolis, as you mentioned — Also in Seattle and Portland.”

He continued: “When we look at some of these cities, as he goes forward, he’s making sure that we have not only the Department of Justice, but the Department of Homeland Security and others to make sure that our communities are safe.”

Meadows said that it is up to Joe Biden to make his stance on defunding the police crystal clear.

“It’s not enough to be against that policy. He needs to come out and say, you have to go the other way and support our law enforcement officers,” Meadows said.

Exactly. Biden has gone on record to say he doesn’t support the proposition to defund the police, but how much weight does that carry when all of his supporters and allies have thrown themselves in with the Black Lives Matter organization/movement? How can voters be sure that Biden won’t cave to their demands once he’s been elected to the highest office in the land? Even if he doesn’t, you can be sure that he will not give law enforcement the support they need. And without that support, the left’s radical elements will slowly but surely attain the goals they’re seeking.

With the caveat that there’s never a good time to put Democrats in charge, this might be the worst possible time.
