A Black Lives Matter activist named Isaiah Jackson was reportedly confused this week when police arrested him over a photograph he posted to social media. The picture, which he apparently believed was a strong statement for racial justice, showed Jackson kneeling with a knee in the neck of a 2-year-old baby in diapers. The image of a huge black man putting his knee into the neck of a small white baby was shocking and strange enough to go viral, which we can only assume pleased the 20-year-old Jackson. In the caption to the photo, he added “BLM now mf.”

Well, it’s not clear if Jackson’s contribution to the world of modern performance art was appreciated as a political statement, but it certainly drew the attention of Clark County police.

Charges are pending review by the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office against a man accused of kneeling on the neck of a 2-year-old child in a photo shared on social media, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, who deputies identified as Isaiah Jackson, 20, has been booked in the Clark County Jail on a probation violation and remains in the jail Wednesday afternoon, according to online jail records.
The sheriff’s office said a case against Jackson has been presented to the prosecutor’s office who will “provide a determination on the scope and breadth of the felony charges” that Jackson will face in the alleged incident, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Kristopher Shultz said in a media release. Investigators did not detail the charges Jackson might be charged with.
Deputies said an investigation was launched Tuesday after they were made aware of the photo, which shows a man with his knee on the back of a child’s neck. The child appears to be crying in the photo while a second person holds the child’s hands behind their back. The photo’s caption read “Blm now.”
Conservative writer Matt Walsh said that if you changed the race of the people in the picture and gave it a new caption, it would probably be shocking enough to send protesters back into the streets for another round of rioting and looting.
“This dirtbag’s name is Isaiah Jackson,” Walsh tweeted. “He’s supporting BLM by kneeling on the neck of a white toddler. I want you to imagine for a moment the reaction if the child was black and the message said ‘MAGA’ instead of ‘BLM’. It would be the only thing we talked about for a month.”

Have to admit, that sounds like a pretty solid prediction. As it stands, even the mild amount of attention this story gets will probably be characterized as a Right Wing Media Overreaction by the mainstream press. Or maybe, if we’re really lucky, we’ll get to hear Don Lemon or Trevor Noah explain to us why it’s justified to put your knee into a baby’s neck for the sake of social justice.
After all, it wouldn’t be the stupidest thing we’ve heard over the last two months…
