While President Joe Biden privately contemplates bowing out of the 2024 presidential race, the White House insists he’s still going to run.
As calls from top members of Biden’s own party continue to grow, a new report has surfaced indicating that Biden’s team is accepting the inevitability that he will have to drop out of the race.

But there’s a catch.
Biden has reportedly told an unnamed ally he knows he’ll have to bow out of the 2024 race for the White House if he can’t turn things around in the coming days, who went straight to The New York Times.
Biden’s candidacy is apparently riding on the success (or failure) on an ABC News interview and campaign stops in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin over the holiday weekend, the Times reported, citing an unnamed source.
“He knows if he has two more events like [the debate], we’re in a different place,” the ally reportedly told the outlet.
Biden could potentially bow out of the race as soon as next week — depending on how things materialize in the coming days.
White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates attacked the Times report Wednesday as “absolutely false.”
But according to a report from the Washington Examiner, 25 House Dems are in the works to reportedly prepare to ask Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential election if he does not convince them otherwise in the coming days.
However, this latest report marks the first evidence that Biden himself is considering giving up on his bid for a second term after he and his team repeatedly rejected the possibility following the late June debate.
According to sources who spoke with The New York Post Monday night, antsy Democratic donors have given Biden a two-week grace period for his poll numbers to recover.
And, one of Biden’s top advisers — who wasn’t named — admitted the incumbent was “well aware of the political challenge he faces.”

According to media outlets Punchbowl News and Semafor, Biden is also having private conversations with top-ranking Democratic officials, including both Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer D-NY and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries D-NY have both spoken to Biden in the last 24 hours.
A spokeswoman for Jeffries confirmed the Democratic leader had “a private conversation” with the president. while a Schumer spokesman did not respond to requests for comment.
