When Democrats call to defund and abolish the police, it demonstrates their inability to consider the ramifications that this would have on public safety. Despite how much the left enjoys demonizing law enforcement, they benefit from the protection of police, just like other Americans of all races, creeds, and political views.
Undermining police undermines a civil society; despite the noise of the anti-police mob, most Americans understand why law enforcement is so critical to the maintenance of public safety.

In fact, a new poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports reveals that more than six in ten U.S. citizens believe that the growing anti-police sentiment poses a threat to public safety.
Where Most Americans Stand on Police and Public Safety
While the people who abhor police and would love to see policing abolished are often the loudest, they are not the majority. Rasmussen Reports found that 63% of Americans believe that the pushback against law enforcement will ultimately engender fewer officers and therefore a stronger threat to public safety.

This 63% of Americans includes 84% of Republicans, 52% of Democrats, and 59% of Independents; this means the majority of Americans across political parties have concerns about public safety. Only 29% polled by Rasmussen Reports claimed that they had few to no concerns about anti-police rhetoric’s ultimate impact on public safety.
52% of African-Americans are also included in the aforementioned 63% of Americans, as is 61% of other voters who are not white.
Preserving Public Safety in the Country
Public safety in America is a must. Police officers are the thin blue line standing between a peaceful society and a chaotic Mad Max regime.
When Democrats call to defund and abolish police, they are being reckless. They’re also failing to consider what a weakened or removed police would mean for drug traffickers, rapists, human traffickers, pedophiles, and other dangerous criminals who bring direct harm to others.

America needs law enforcement. Unfortunately, though, police officers are being crucified consistently for doing their jobs, for working to protect and serve. These attacks against law enforcement are unacceptable. They must end for the sake of the country and for public safety in these United States.
